Books by John Grisham

The last public signing at Lemuria, The Chamber in 1994: “You want me to do what?”

When John Grisham came to sign our copies of The Confession in the Fall of 2010, we suggested doing an interview with him. He thought it was great idea and below are a couple of our favorites.

*     *     *

What was your weirdest experience at Lemuria?

John Grisham: There are two. A young mother asked me to autograph her baby’s diaper. I did, and I’ve never believed it was fresh. And a very strange lady once asked me to autograph a book to Delores, her best friend, who had died the week before. I did so quickly.

And your most surprising experience?

John Grisham: Years ago, before  I dreamed of getting published, and before Lemuria moved to Banner Hall, I was leaving the store one day and recognized Eudora Welty as she was entering. I stopped her, introduced myself, offered some drivel about how much I enjoyed her work. She was grateful. I still regret the intrusion.

*     *     *

As you may know, John Grisham started his writing career rather humbly by selling his first book, A Time to Kill, out of the trunk of his own car. Through the years, as Grisham's popularity grew to signing lines running outside of our building and into the parking lot, we had to move to private signings. Because of our relationship with John Grisham from day one, we have been one of the only places to get signed first editions of all his books.

Below you will find a listing of our signed first editions and signed limited editions. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call us: 800/601.366.7619.
