Dale Beasley retired in 2012 after a brilliant 31-year military career, having served throughout Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. He is a sixth-generation soldier who now works as a trauma/emergency room nurse and writer. He also proudly claims two sons in the military, to whom he dedicates this book: Ensign Wesley Keith Beasley, US Navy, and Specialist Alan Middleton Beasley, US Army.

The new book, a full-color coffee (or cocktail) table book, delivers cards, letters, and photographs from soldiers during wartime. “I am pleased to bring this book to you and hope in reading it, you may find a deeper appreciation of the holidays and for the sacrifices endured by so many,” Beasley said. “In recognition of those sacrifices and commemoration of their memory, 15 percent of this book’s profits will be donated to national nonprofit Wreaths Across America for its mission to remember, honor, and teach. This mission is carried out, in part, by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies in over 2,500 participating locations both home and abroad. In the words of President Lincoln, ‘It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.’”

The author aims to update this commemorative with more collected communications from soldiers not included in this first edition. Future books will feature stories from veterans and their families of the Vietnam, Gulf, Iraq, and Afghanistan Wars. We Will Not Be Home For Christmas marks Beasley’s second book—he published What I Learned At The ‘Zoo in 2020. The novel delivers a funny, fictionalized account of the author’s 14th summer with family in Yazoo City
