ALICE RHEA MITCHELL, a native of Jackson, Mississippi, holds the B.A. degree from Millsaps College and the M.A.T. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Having taught students at the secondary level in the public schools of Mississippi for twenty-seven years, she has authored Interdisciplinary Instruction in Reading Comprehension and Written Communication: A Guide for an Innovative Curriculum, published by Charles C. Thomas, Publishers, in 1993. She also has penned My Mama’s Closet, published by Magnolia Gazette Publishing Corporation in 2013, Scooter Mouse and the Teddy Bears, published by Magnolia Gazette Publishing Corporation in 2016 and reprinted in 2018, and Our Game, published by White Bird Publications in 2017. She and her husband live in Magnolia, Mississippi.

SHERYL K. PERRY earned the B.B.A. degree with honors from the University of Texas at Austin. She was inspired as a child to be an artist by the pictures in story books. In turn, she continues to be inspired by the free-spirited imagination in art by children. She hopes her illustrations will encourage budding artists to create their own visions. When not painting in watercolor, Sheryl enjoys exploring collage and mixed media. Sheryl’s charming watercolors illustrate Mitchell’s My Mama’s Closet, Scooter Mouse and the Teddy Bears, and Our Game. Sheryl and her husband reside in San Antonio, Texas, with their playful rescue puppy Adele.
